Mourthos Ioannis

Υiannis Mourthos obtained his PhD in classical archaeology from the Department of History and Archeology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He acquired his degree in archeology from the Department of History and Archeology of the University of Ioannina and a master’s degree in classical archeology from the Postgraduate Studies Program of the University of Athens. He has worked as a contract archaeologist for the 15th, 18th, 19th Ephorate of Antiquities and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kavala – Thasos, and as a scientific associate for the Cultural Heritage Department of the Athena Research Center for various projects. His interests involve social memory and identities in Greek and Roman antiquity, historical topography of Aegean Thrace with an emphasis on the islands of the North Aegean, and Hellenistic sculpture.
