Koukouli Myrto

Myrto Koukouli started working as a researcher and software developer at the “Athena” Research Center in November 2017. She graduated in 2007 from the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Athens and is currently a student of the Postgraduate Program “Information and Communication Technologies” of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the same University. From 2017 until today she has worked in European (OpenAIRE, EMOTIVE) and national (Voeska, Periplous) research projects. During these programs, she was mainly involved in the design and development of web applications, research in various Computer Science fields (Natural Language Processing, Controlled Vocabularies and Ontologies in Cultural Heritage, etc.) and the writing of deliverables. Her current scientific interests include Collection Management Systems and the development of Linked Data management applications in Cultural Heritage. In the past, she has worked in archaeological fieldwork and research programs and has a long-lasting collaboration (from 2007 until today) with archaeologists Prof. Yannis Sakellarakis (until 2010) and Dr. Efi Sapouna-Sakellaraki in the fields of digital archive organization, bibliographic research, publications preparation, etc. Since 2017 she is a member of the research team “Madgik” of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Athens.
