ILSP 2024 Annual Report

The Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) has released its 2024 Annual Activity Report, highlighting a year of major milestones and impactful innovation across language and cultural technology, AI research, and digital transformation.

From the launch of Meltemi, the first open LLM for Greek, to ILSP’s leading role in European initiatives such as the Alliance for Language Technologies (ALT-EDIC), 2024 marked a turning point for the Institute. “We turned strategic ambitions into reality and positioned the Institute at the forefront of AI for language technology in Greece and Europe,” notes ILSP Director Dr. Vassilis Katsouros in his foreword.

The report showcases a broad portfolio of projects in fields such as cultural heritage, education, health, and the public sector, as well as ILSP’s strong outreach and training efforts to engage students, professionals, and the wider community.
