Polytropon is organized in the following thematic areas:

1. Embodied Communication and

2. Text analytics in Knowledge Management The Embodied Communication focuses on the areas of human communication which include the indexing and processing of data from a variety of sensory and movement sources that complement the language message in comprehension and learning processes. The complex environment of human communication (generation) produce and comprehension is being searched for i. decoding the multi-modal expression which accompanies speech production, ii. the integration of emotional features in the production of synthetic speech and iii. analysis of the semantic indicators used by sign languages use in 3D space. Finally, it is explored how information from different human tropics can be used as an object of recognition and learning by robot systems.

The subject of Text analytics in Knowledge Management is the process of the state of the art in ILSP with regard to the processing of natural language through 1. the improvement of existing language tools (tools for word separation, morphological analysis, literacy, identification of nominees entities, terminology extraction, syntax analysts), 2. new technologies development, such as meeting and interfacing algorithms with designated entities and the improvement of existing machine translation algorithms, and 3. their integration into the state-of-the-art ILSP language technology. Also, aims at expanding the existing resources infrastructure for the Greek language by developing a conceptual vocabulary and conducting basic and applied research in Learning Analytics.
