GenAI-EduMap is a three-year European Erasmus+ Forward-Looking project coordinated by the Institute for Language and Speech Processing of the Athena Research Center. The project aims to support the responsible, pedagogically grounded and ethically sound use of Generative Artificial Intelligence in upper primary and secondary education.
The project will map existing practices, needs and challenges related to the use of Generative AI in four European countries, Greece, Cyprus, Ireland and Sweden, and will develop educational scenarios, tools and workflows aligned with national curricula, in collaboration with educators and students. The tools will be tested in real school settings and evaluated in terms of their usability, educational value, ethical dimensions and the conditions required for their sustainable implementation.
At the same time, GenAI-EduMap will implement a training and AI skills development programme for educators and will produce practical guidelines and evidence-based policy recommendations for schools, educational organisations and education policy bodies. Building on the results and experience of the AI4EDU project, GenAI-EduMap seeks to contribute to the transition from fragmented uses of Generative AI tools towards their systematic, inclusive and human-centred integration into European education.
