AQUAMON is a Horizon Europe project that develops a holistic, AI-driven, and automated platform for real-time monitoring and management of urban water quality. It integrates advanced multi-modal sensors, autonomous robotic systems (aerial, surface, and underwater), and AI-based data fusion and analytics to detect, assess, and respond to pollution events across the entire urban water cycle. By combining digital twins, blockchain-secured data exchange, and XR-enabled interfaces, AQUAMON provides transparent, interactive, and science-based decision support for water authorities, utilities, and citizens. The project’s ultimate goal is to enhance urban water resilience, safeguard public health, and support the EU’s Zero Pollution Action Plan and Water Framework Directive through scalable and interoperable technological innovation.
ILSP is responsible for the technical coordination of the entire project, the development of innovative machine learning solutions for water quality analysis, the creation of the datalake, and the project’s holistic platform.
