Vangelis Pistolas

Vangelis Pistolas received his degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) in 2006. In 2006, he began the interdepartmental MSc program “Organization and Management of Technical Systems” at DUTH and in 2008 obtained the corresponding Postgraduate Specialization Diploma from Democritus University of Thrace. From 2009 to 2021, he worked as an engineer specializing in software development and the management of computer systems and networks. Since 2021, he has also started collaborating with the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) / Athena Research Center in Thrace. He participated in the “Agro4+ – Holistic Approach to Agriculture for Young Farmers” program, contributing to the development of web platforms and services. He also took part in the project focused on the construction of web platforms and services for the management of the digitized archive of the National Theatre of Greece. Currently, he is participating in the “ALGEBRA – Innovative Bio-treatment Practices for the Removal of Toxic Compounds Using Microalgae within a Circular Economy Framework” program, working on the development of models and machine learning algorithms. He is involved in the design and implementation of databases and the development of web applications. Additionally, he has worked on the implementation of RESTful APIs.
