Ventoura Nikoletta

Nikoletta Ventoura is a research associate of the Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) at the Athena Research Center (ATHENA RC). She co-instructed the workshop directed towards teenagers and young adults “Making your first chatbot” at the Athens Science Festival 2021. She graduated with distinctions from the Department of Greek Philology, with a specialization in Linguistics, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During her studies, she was interested in Computational Linguistics and furthered her knowledge through seminars and courses (European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information), while she wrote her thesis in the same field with the title: “Experiments in cross-topic authorship attribution”. During 2018-2019 she was working as Community and Communications Manager at MeXOXO, a Non-Governmental Organization, that empowers women through entrepreneurship. She has organized a plethora of events and workshops, while she has participated in conferences (Social Business Days) about social entrepreneurship. Her research interests involve speech and language processing, conversation design for the optimization of human-computer interaction, and the development of computing infrastructure for the Greek language.
