Loukas Bampis

Dr. Loukas Bampis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace. His research interests primarily focus on designing and integrating robotics and mechatronics systems within modern industries, with a specific emphasis on deep learning techniques and sensor modeling for autonomous mapping and localization applications. He has been involved in the implementation and writing process of research projects funded by the Greek Government and the European Union, both for the Democritus University of Thrace and the Institute for Language and Speech Processing at the Athena Research Center. He is the author of more than 50 publications in international scientific journals and conferences, for which he has received over 700 citations and an h-index of 17 (as of March 2023). He is a member of IEEE and serves as a reviewer for reputable international scientific journals and conferences.
