Giagkou Maria
Maria Giagkou is a linguist specializing in language technology. She holds a PhD in Linguistics (Department of Philology, University of Athens), an MSc in Language Technology (University of Athens & National Technical University of Athens) and a BA in Philology (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).
She has participated in more than 30 national and European R&D projects focusing on corpus linguistics, natural language processing (NLP), and technology-enhanced language learning. Maria acts as deputy or site project manager for European projects, such as the European Language Resource Coordination, European Language Equality, ALT-EDIC4EU and LLMs4EU.
Her research interests include computational text analysis, automated readability assessment, and the development of language resources for under-resourced languages, having published mainly on computational text processing for the extraction of morphological, syntactic and lexical features and automated readability assessment for Greek L1 and L2 speakers.
