Betsou Chrysoula

Betsou Chrysoula received her Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Ioannina, in 2013. Two years later, she finished her Master studies in Physics in the same University. In 2020, she finished her PhD studies in Environmental Radioactivity in the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her PhD thesis concerned the determination of the concentrations of radionuclides and trace elements in mosses, using nuclear methods. During her PhD studies she got a scholarship from the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK) for PhD candidates. Since 2021, she has been working as a scientific associate at the E.K. «Athena»- Institute of Language and Speech Processing (ILSP) in Xanthi. Her research interests include environmental radioactivity- radioecology, cosmogenic and naturally occurring radionuclides in environmental samples (e.g. soil ,mosses, plants, water), dosimetry, radiation detection methods, detector calibrations, trace elements in mosses using Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA).
