Maria graduated from the Department of Philology of the University of Patras, specializing in Linguistics. At the postgraduate level, she completed her studies in the interdisciplinary postgraduate programme of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with the Institute of Language and Speech Processing. The collaboration with Athena RC started in the context of her thesis, where she was involved in the development and evaluation of language technology tools, as well as data processing and analysis. She has participated in the creation and development of sociolinguistic and dialectological research projects. Currently, she is working on natural language processing tools to improve linguistic research.
