AIXPERT: An agentic, multi-layer, GenAI-powered backbone to make an AI system explainable, accountable, and transparent

AIXPERT aims to transform how AI is developed, deployed, and trusted by society. The project will build a comprehensive, architecture-agnostic and explainable AI framework that addresses key concerns around bias, opacity, autonomy, and robustness, while remaining adaptable across domains. Through five real-world pilots in healthcare, recruitment, manufacturing, educational robotics, and the creative industries, AIXPERT will demonstrate the practical benefits of transparent, accountable, and ethical AI systems, ensuring full compliance with EU ethical and legal standards set out in the AI Act and helping to build broad trust in AI across sectors and societies.
Within AIXPERT, ILSP plays a central role. It not only serves as the project coordinator, ensuring the quality of processes and outputs across all phases, but it is also directly involved in key tasks such as project management, the system architecture blueprint, the virtual assistant, and the development of explainable Multimodal Foundation Models.
