"New Technologies for Information Processing
within the Public Administration"

The aim of the event was to present to senior public administration personnel technologies such as machine translation, translation memories, voice recognition, speech synthesis, natural language processing, content management, computer aided transcription technology, thesauri development, error correction systems and support technologies for people with special needs.

These technologies can be incorporated into information processing platforms that are used by the public administration contributing to the improvement of system performance and service provision quality.

The presentations were accompanied by demonstrations of ready-to-use/customisable applications and specific suggestions on the exploitation and integration of such technologies into everyday practice.

The workshop was addressed to senior personnel of the public administration.

The event took place in the framework of the EUROMAP Language Technologies project of the EC, aiming at the promotion of the use of Language Technology.
