Spyridoula Stamouli holds a PhD in Linguistics, an MA in Applied Linguistics and a BA in Greek Philology, all from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens. In her PhD thesis she studied narrative development in Greek L1 and L2. She has been working at the Institute for Language & Speech Processing / 'Athena' R.C. since 2002 and has participated in a number of research and development projects. Her work mainly concerns the design and development of ICT educational applications for learners of Greek as L1 and L2 (e.g. “Akousma”: a web-based platform with listening activities, “Basic Grammar of Greek”: grammar book for learners of Greek as L2, “A knight in the castle of letters” – “A knight in the castle of words”: educational software and book for teaching Greek as L2, “Greek-Turkish dictionary for children”: CD-ROM & book for young learners of Greek as L2, etc). She has also participated in a number of research projects on the acquisition of Greek L1 and L2 and the assessment of language proficiency.
